Unlike most regiments, the Moebencrast Raiders are primarily made up of gas rig workers and salvagers hired by the Moebencrast Concern - the corporation that staked the claim. Because of their somewhat unique recruitment, the Raiders share a certain camraderie with the common folk of the system and are hailed as heroes, though they are largely underfunded and undersupplied by the Concern. They also utilize a myriad of skills developed from their time as employees of the Concern and as such excel in repurposing discarded technologies as well as weapons and vehicles left behind from their many battles.

Training in the ravaged wasteland created by unfettered Thuysten gas mining and refinement has given the regiment a somewhat hardened edge. They are experts at surviving in harsh conditions and have picked up many unconventional strategies from many years of facing pirates and xenos incursions. They are known to utilize ambushes, guerilla tactics, and sabotage to disrupt and disorient their foes.

They are currently under investigation by the Deathwatch of the local Watch Fortress Mortguard for reports of suspicious goings-on. These claims are largely unsubstantiated, however, and they have been deemed loyal and fit for service by Inquisitor Elias von Mornaal.
